This post is dedicated to the pig farmyard theme party food! There were three types of pigs.
Adam loves watermelon. On holiday last year it was the food he lived off for a week! I didn’t think we could get a watermelon involved in a farmyard theme party but came across a pig watermelon on the ‘What About Watermelon’ website.
Nana followed the great instructions on What About Watermelon, although substituted the buttons used for eyes with small pink marshmallows. Our watermelon sat on green jelly grass.
Pork pie pigs
Nana was in her creative element by designing and making her own pork pie pigs.
A pork pie formed the pigs body, a cocktail sausage was used for its snout, bits of liquorice for eyes and pink paper for its ears and tail. Cocktail sticks were used for the pigs legs and to hold everything in place.
The pigs were displayed on a roof tile which was placed outside Adams toy farm.
Pigs in mud
Having been inspired by the amazing farm birthday party at Maxabella Loves. I wanted to recreate the pigs in mud. In Morrisons we found Chocolate Flavour Delight to use as mud.
A trip to Marks and Spencers was required for their Percy Pig sweets and we added small wooden spoons to scoop up the mud.
Had we had more time to prepare I would have loved to use Maxabella Loves free farm printables. Certainly check out her site for more party theme inspiration!
The next post will be the sweet treats.
Disclaimer: I received vouchers as part of the #MorrisonsMum campaign to spend in store so that I could blog about my Morrisons experience and about my Bank Holiday weekend! All the views are mine and mine alone.
